Sarah Bentvelzen was born July 1987 in Armadale, Western Australia. At a young age she moved with her family to New South Wales. It was there that she began her fascination with art.
From childhood, Sarah developed a talent in the artistic field. Ever since her infamous finger-painting skills in the early 1990's. This led her to believe that she could fulfil a promising career in the art world.
Sarah concentrates on using watercolour, pastels (soft, oil and water-soluble), mixed media or special media, and acrylic as her preferred media.
In 2006 Sarah received the People's Choice Award for the University of Western Sydney's START - Student Art competition for her piece 'Colour Attack'.
Sarah finds inspiration from writers Edgar Allan Poe, Dante, Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy, Orwell and Mary Shelley, and artists Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Dali, Pollock, Escher, Tanya Loviz, Wendy Stavrianos, and Ian Fairweather.
Currently Sarah is working as an artist in the Hawkesbury area in Sydney, New South Wales. She is also completing a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course.
